Give Mike a call at the Gray Cat Frame Shop in Carpinteria. He has over 30-years in the business. We have found him to be the best in Santa Barbara County. http://graycatframes.com/

We used gray cat in Carp as well for 4 large paintings my wife had done. He is an old world craftsman and can do high end to lower price frames. He can also do a great job photographing art. He's in the really neat section of artist live-work lofts in carp.

Aaron Brothers. Ask for their one cent frame sale, which might end soon after running for only about 30 years.

Frame on 921 de la Vina-de la Guerra Canon Perdido. Definitely local - the owner, Elaine, does the work; definitely top quality work - I haven't had any framing done there recently, but everything I had done was fine; expensive but all quality framing is.

Out of the three big stores Aaron brothers is the best. We have had work done at Michael's (so so and very pricey), Craft Village (not too bad), and Aaron Brothers (super friendly and helpful staff).

The Frame-Up in the Calle Real Shopping Center does beautiful work and has a wide variety of custom frames to choose from.

Christi Westerhouse of the Frameworks, she's the best. Aaron Brothers is a joke. Christi is also one of the founders of First Thursday, support the local!

Another strong vote for Christi at Frameworks. They are located in the El Paseo center courtyard. She has done several pieces for me over the years and they have all been excellent. Her eye for design is spectacular.

I appreciate the posts that describe the framing work you had done. Otherwise, the comment could be from the business trying to promote itself.

I've used Michael's in Santa Maria several times over the last two years. I waited until their 60% off framing sale. They did excellent work every time and I am very satisfied. Friendly and helpful too.

I went into Dave at Fast Frame after seeing all the posts earlier today, and am thrilled with what we decided on for my 3 pieces. Another gal was picking up 4 diplomas or something like that she had framed. It's a lovely shop. He was most helpful.

Wait! One more recommendation: Parameters, off Patterson on 5350 Overpass Rd., 964-5583, has framed my photographs for art show exhibits. They frame it all, mirrors, momentos, paintings, and do it superbly. I think they're having a 20% off sale now.

Fast Frame! Dave not only does an excellent job for a reasonable price, he's a generous contributor to many local non-profits, and as aboard member of the Downtown Organization, helps to look after the beauty of our town and the safety and welfare of our people. Can't say enough good things, so I'll cut it short.

Frameworks in El Paseo (across from El Paseo Restaurant, through the courtyard). Both Christi (owner) and Kim are both perfectionists in their materials (archival) and quality work, and have creative, tasteful ideas for presenting your work really well. They've been doing this for years and deserve the reputation they've earned.

Art Essentials. Adam framed and matted close to 10 of my various prints and posters. Very reasonable prices and fast turn-around. In fact, I'll probably be heading there again myself shortly to get some more stuff framed. Good luck!

If you went to "Dave" @ Fast Frame you just wasted your money. Matt @ Art Resources does the best work in town. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce & works with non profit organizations & The Downtown Beautification Committee. And in his spare time which is rare is big brother to many homeless children. He is located @ 512 E. Haley St. Down a beautifully manicured driveway full of suculants & cactus. Any place else is a waste of time & money.
