Yoga in Goleta

Wondering if some Edhat readers could help me with this. I am looking for yoga classes in Goleta. I had a place in downtown SB where I used to go that I really like, but I've moved into Western Goleta, and the drive to and from downtown kind of take away from the relaxing benefits of the yoga. Anywhere in Goleta I can go? I'm willing to join a gym so long as the price is reasonable and the classes are good.

I too was looking for yoga classes and am taking them through SBCC Adult Ed at the Wake Center on Turnpike, they offer two classes a week and at great pricing.

Lack of yoga studios in Goleta is a major reason why I don't want to move there from downtown. I hear Goleta Valley Athletic Club has classes, and don't forget UCSB's Leisure Review!

I have been taking yoga classes at Spectrum in Goleta for about 8 years... If you want a gym membership, it is worth it even if you just do the yoga a few times a week... The classes are great!

Something about practicing yoga at a gym seems contradictory....I too wish there was a nice studio in Goleta....sounds like a business opportunity to me...

I've had this same problem! SB is too far to go since I'm even further out of Goleta. Adult Ed would be good but the days and hours are limited. I wonder if the Spectrum lets you do a trial membership? I've never really been a gym person.

How is yoga at a gym contradictory? May not be trendy as a yoga studio and people are not there to show off their latest yoga outfit as much but I have had some of the best instructors at my gym.

I've used SBCC Adult Ed yoga classes at Wake (Turnpike) for years. All instructors are great. I especially like the 1.5 hour classes with Elena and also with Holly. Pricing is extremely reasonable, lowest anywhere! Facilities are bare-bones. The room is plenty big, but it was the original cafeteria/assembly hall.

OP here - How much is Spectrum a month? Their Web site doesn't list the details. Also, do you know if any of the places you've listed (thanks!) have evening/weekend classes?

Catherdral Oaks has some great yoga classes including evening/weekends. It is pricey however...

I go to Spectrum Goleta and it is about $50/month per person when you sign up with a spouse. A little more if you sign up solo.

UCSB has a ton of classes thru the Recreation Department. Evening classes and a great price. Community member are welcome.
