Baking Supplies

Does anyone know of a place that sells good quality stainless steel or environmentally friendly commercial baking things like muffin tins, mini bundt cake pans, big dessert trays, etc...at a very very good price? (It's for a non-profit organization).
Also, would like to find heart shaped mini cake pans or cutters. to cut cakes and cookies.

Exactly what is an "environmentally friendly" piece of bakeware? One that can be recycled? One not coated with teflon? One that lasts for 30 years? This whole notion of "environmentally friendly" has gotten out of hand.

The request for clarification of what the OP was looking for was appropriate, but why throw in your opinion of the "notion" of environmentally friendly products? The OP wasn't seeking opinions, they were seeking referrals. To the OP, there aren't many local places other than Williams Sonoma and Sur le Table that sell quality bakeware, you may be better served reading reviews online and choosing a online store that way. Good luck in your search!

921 is correct, there aren't too many local places. Surfas in Carson City is the only one I know that has decent pricing on commercial quaility bakeware. www.surfas.com

Check in the yellow pages for used restaurant equipment--they often have things at bargain prices, from restaurant closures. Most commercial restaurant supply houses have large sheet pan sized muffin pans, cutters, etc. They will likely be heavy gauge aluminum. You'll be using liners most likely. Jordano's in SB comes to mind--they'd probably deal with you with your 501-c status. They carry all sorts of rest. supplies. If you have any relationship with a favorite restaurant of any type where you are a recognized regular, simply ask the manager for help in finding a good supplier. It's human nature to help one another. Good luck, and let us know how you do.

You might try M&M Restaurant Supply, or Cresco -- both in Santa Maria -- if Smart & Final doesn't have what you're looking for.

Kamran's - look it up in the phone book or online. It the place to buy resturant quality and great prices. And it's in SB so you don't have to schlep to Santa Maria, or Carson City (where is that???) or S&F. And if by "environmentally friendly " you mean stainless steel and not silicon - Kamran's is the way to go.

Camran & Company 411 E Montecito St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101 It can be confusing the first time you go there, it is a wherehouse with the office in the back. If there is no one in front to help you just go to the back and you will see the offices and there should be someone there to help you. They also have a large catalog you can order from if they don't have it in stock.

Re: 178925P, Surfas is in Culver City, not Carson City, & it's a great place. I could not find stainless steel sheet & baking pans at Kamran locally. After extensive web research (because I did not want my food touching aluminum) I bought them online at MetroKitchen www.metrokitchen.com & have been very happy with them.

Kamran - most expensive I've dealt with in 20 years in the business. They are mostly a design/installation company (and are amazing to work with) but their smallwares are very expensive. Talk w Stevenson's in Ventura if you want local, not as good pricing as Surfas. Surfas in Culver City is a go to resource, just be sure to bring cash or a card as they do not like checks and will not accept business checks at all. Also, check out the used guys on Washington Blvd in LA (B&B for instance), all of them carry new smallwares as well as used and always have good prices.
