Plaza Deli has the best value and surprisingly good bacon, avocado with tomatoes. You also get great outdoor seating and a very friendly owner.

I've been inspired by this thread and done it up at home. Half a pound of bacon, vine-ripe toms, mixed organic greens, mayo, and Dijon on toasted sourdough. Couldn't get any better! Bon appetit!

Never get it at Jeannines they forget to put mayo on it unless you ask. Thing just falls apart in your hands. Expensive too.

The problem with the one at Cafe Quakenbush is it means you don't get their burger which arguably the best in the county. Solution? Get both and split with your dining partner?

Google Ruhlman BLT challenge. It's lots of fun...even cured our own bacon to go with garden lettuce, tomatoes and homemade bread/aoli, though the "winner" actually dried his own seawater for the salt!
