Are there any bait & tackle shops in Santa Barbara or Goleta that offer
fishing pole rentals? My friend and I want to fish off of the pier this
weekend and don't want to buy the equipment since we wont use it that
often.

If you are fly fishing, I think that you can rent one on Santa Claus Lane from the fly fishing shop there... THE ARTFUL ANGLER. The owner is a great guy and extremely knowledgeable. Salt water fly fishing is great right off the beach behind his shop!

stearns wharf bait and tackle on the Pier in SB is great. They have rentals and you don't need a license to fish..
