Adult Ed has classes and I would find someone through the class.

I have a potential lead for you. Valle Verde Retirement Community has a quilting/knitting/needlepoint group that meets weekly. In the past, they have volunteered their time to finish projects of fellow residents who have passed away (in order to present the finished project to that residents children). They have also accepted donations of unfinished projects which they complete and then sell to raise money for Unity Shoppe. I don't know if they would be willing to extend that service to the community, but it might be worth a call to find out!

What helpful answers! I have to admit that my thoughts ran to, "Right. Leave it under your pillow and maybe the tooth fairy will pitch in..."

You could also call a local knitting shop like cardigans or any of the others. They all have groups of people who meet regularly and may be available to help out.
