Scanner Report - May 15

By Roger the scanner guy
Well it's Monday already kind of a rowdy weekend with a murder in I.V. and the robbery on Haley.
What was strange about the robbery on Milpas or Haley is that the victim stated that he though his friend might have been killed, I guess in this house in the 700 Block of Haley.
A couple hours later someone gets killed in I.V. The friend did not have the same name as the murder victim though. I also woke up around 3ISH and heard there had been another robbery in Santa Barbara although I caught the call in the middle and did not hear an address.
I read where someone referred to Santa Barbara as Compton, I don't think so. Where I see Santa Barbara in a few years is like Oxnard, I think Compton is a little farther along, Oxnard isn't so bad is it? What happened to Santa Barbara you think?
There's some that think Santa Barbara's down fall is medical marijuana, then came the bums...I remember a long time ago when Paseo Nuevo was built someone said there was going be bunches more crime. With progress comes crime.
Then there's the gangs many years ago one of my sisters who lived in a small country town in Indiana told me the town was filling up with gang members. They were working the farms and the ranches bringing big city crime to small town America. There are gangs all over, homeless people are all over the place too.
There's no room at many Inns across America and it's getting worse is there a cure to homelessness? Can we control the gangs? Or are they controlling us? Seems like promises are never kept from politicians who want to run our fair cities. Some try but it seems they get bombarded by all the problems after awhile they don't seem to care unless they are in control then...LOOK OUT!
Should we just adjust to our changing society? Or should we just keep slamming our heads against the wall hoping that someday someone's gonna come along and change our city for the better? I think it's going to change no matter what and we need to adjust.
It seems one area of town gets cleaned up and another goes down hill. It's like musical chairs, around here. Just the other day I noticed USA Gas on Milpas was all cleaned up then went by a day or so later it was all torn up again.
I have a another sister who lives near Hollywood Fla. Same thing homeless all over the place. Even in my hometown the Armpit of Chicago homeless people all over people outta work, can't feed the kids, can't keep up the payments on the house. People leaving there loved ones behind looking for greener pastures. People committing suicide. Sorta like the Great Depression, SNOT even close not yet anyway.
People are not willing to pick fruit and vegetables for room, board and a few nickels yet. I'm sure some would be willing to. Anyone ever read The Grapes of Wrath, By John Steinbeck? It's the best book I've ever read. One never knows how things are going to turn out. Everything I've said probably doesn't matter anyway the world is supposed to end May 21st anyway, 3 days before me and Bob Dylan's birthday, figures..
