Jalama Cabins

We took a Mother's Day drive out to Jalama on Sunday. I was curious about the progress of the 7 new cabins. It was a crisp and amazingly clear day. We spotted two groups of whales in the near shore area just off Jalama Beach...they were so close in, we were able to see them clearly in the breaking waves, spouting and frolicking. After a famous Jalama burger lunch we drove up to see the new cabins perched on the hillside. Their location is perfect, unfortunately, they now occupy our former favorite campsites. The Ranger told me they will open within weeks and the going rate is $200 a night on weekends, $150 during the week...2 night minimum! There goes the neighborhood!...sigh.
