Date in the Bike Lane: Some Lines for a Lousy Driver

A runner, a surfer, a walker and hiker,
I love to be active, I'm even a biker

Most days I get moving for my health and my mind
Other times laziness feels just as fine

Today I chose pedal power to propel me along,
Not thinking I would even exercise long

Little did I know my heart would get quite a pumping
As it felt like out of my chest it would go jumping.

No hike or no run produced this odd feeling,
Just a truck driver who found my bike lane appealing

Was it the helmet, the light or even the red vest?
My personality's magnetic! (surely you jest).

Thankfully, sir, I had just had my hair cut
As I found your enormous mirror attempting a head butt

I only regret not getting your plate
Apologies though, as I was in quite a state

So thank you kind driver for freaking me out
My heart has recovered, I lived through it no doubt

But next time you try and join me in my lane for a date
Know that you're unfairly tempting our fates

And If you find you're unable to maintain these rules of engagement
Maybe the PD will help make other arrangements?
