I am looking for the most reasonably priced gas stations in the area.
I know prices change daily but I thought there might be some suggestions from
readers.

AM PM's are usually among the cheapest in any community, statewide. Cash or ATM card only. www.gasbuddy.com finds the cheapest gas prices via reader input, so it is not static information. I usually get Costco gas (must be a member), then run a tank of Chevron with Techron about every 6 fillups.

We did a Gas Price Flash a couple of weeks ago. The prices aren't current, but the relativity should be about the same.

Von's gas in Goleta was 3.98 on Friday if you have a Von's card. There was a long line of cars, but under $4 felt like a bargain (scary!)

As of today gas in SB & Goleta is over $4/gal at all listed stations except for Educated Car Wash which is $3.84/gal if you get a wash.

Seems like the amount I save by finding something a few cents cheaper isn't worth the extra time and gas spent getting there.

Since I'm frequently in the area, or at most a few miles away, I usually go the the intersection of Fairview and Calle Real. Between the World Gas and Vons gas, I'll find some of the lowest prices in the Goleta/SB area. I'll go to Vons if there's no line (best times seem to be pre-7 or mid-morning or later at night weekdays), but I figure I'll waste more idling in line then I'd save if I waited otherwise. Wh

Stay away from the gas stations at Glenn Annie / Storke. They are the most expensive places in town. I think they take advantage of their location being close to Costco and UCSB.

Educated Car Wash always seems to have the cheapest gas in town, but you do need to get a wash to buy the gas.

Conserv Fuel is one of the cheapest in the SB area. If you have cash or a debit card it is cheaper than using credit. Yay!

I second Risdon's in Carp. best for price, service and attention. Don and Rueben still understand the idea of a 'service station'!

I was curious, and entered the question 'what is the real cost of gasoline' into a popular search engine. A semi-dated (1998) report by the CTA says $5-$15 / gallon. For most people, it seems like a bike would be the best option for most trips in this town. It cost me $5 just to get me and my 5,000 lbs. of steel across town, seems kind of ridiculous.

Just checked Educated Car Wash again & it's now $3.74 per gal with any car wash. Best price in CA I think.
