I'm curious if there's a fenced dog park like the one pictured below anywhere in
Santa Barbara county? We love this park (located in Washington) but we're moving
back to SB and would love to still have a good doggie park!

There is a fenced dog park at Tucker's Grove (behind Kiwanis Meadows) and another one at Tabano Hollow (off University Drive between Turnpike and Patterson)

In the County, yes, but I don't know of one in the SB city area. There is one on Barton St. in Lompoc. I think they call it the "Bark Park", and it has two fenced areas - one for large and one for small dogs. I went once following some rain and it was a muddy mess, but I am sure it is nice when dry. Here is a link to the city's page about it: http://www.cityoflompoc.com/parks_rec/Barkin.htm Welcome back!

Toro Canyon Park in Montecito has a great fenced-in area for dogs. There are always baggies for waste and the actual space is huge. The only drawback is that there is hardly anyone ever there! Very underused.... link

Tabano Hollow is fenced off. About a 4' fence. With a newly added double gate to make entrance easier. Poop bags, benches, water, big oak tree for shade....

I think Elings Park is either trying to get approvals for one or they've already installed one.

www.countyofsb.org has a listing and pictures of all dog parks and fenced areas. Quite a few I would say considering. There isn't a friendlier dog county in the world as far as I am concerned, hopefully all dog owners will take responsibility to keep it that way, it's up to us!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! Tuckers grove and Tabano Hollow sound like the best options for us so far. It will be nice not having to worry about the rain while we're enjoying the dog park!

Also the new county park at Rice Ranch in Orcutt has a really nice fenced area for dogs - covered area for people too. -- End of Bradley Road at south end of town.

North Turn Pike Rd for Tucker's Grove Park, at the end of Turnpike Road. In the park keep driving until you get to the end. 5 minute walk after that. Friendly people there every day.

Tuckers Grove is ruined now. Too many of those owners with pictures of their dogs on their sweatshirts. Used to be a great secret spot. Now it's just...sad.

Tucker's Grove/Kiwanis Meadows is NOT "ruined" - except there are too many gopher holes. Tabano Hollow is problematic with too many owners doing the socializing, sitting chatting by the willow tree, and not paying attention to their dogs, including the dog poop! Other than the Wilcox property, there is no dog park in Santa Barbara City - and Wilcox has no fenced area, unfortunately.

856: LOL! you're right about Tabano. It also has too many gopher holes, worrisome for dog legs (and human legs, too. Given that it is a county facility, there's liable to be a lawsuit from a broken leg.) I wish there were a dog park in Santa Barbara City --- there is one at Elings, but it costs $$

Yes. All of you who "wish" for a nice fenced-in dog park in City of SB----get to work! As someone who spent years and years working for off-leash space, I can tell you that getting a new place will take you a while. Best of luck. Oh. And vote accordingly. Ask your CIty Council for a new off-leash space and let it be known it is a priority with you.
