Wool Dyer
updated: Mar 17, 2011, 5:27 PM
I have a 1940s era wool coat that is stained where the buttons were attached. The
dry cleaner cannot get it out. I am thinking I can have it dyed. Can anyone make a
recommendation?

Ablitt's or any old-fashion, full service dry cleaner.

I wouldn't trust Ablitts, personally. They've ruined a few of my modern clothes, so a vintage piece like this? I wouldn't do it. Try calling up a tailor in town and seeing who they recommend. They might even send you down to LA (worth the drive) since they have more people who specialize in costume and vintage pieces and you can avoid dyeing it.
