Some say that March Edness is a gateway drug. You start out guessing on a few pictures taken around town, and before you know it, you're spending days on end memorizing building facades on State Street, driving all over town with your window open in the middle of winter, looking for hidden things in open spaces, and trying to find needles in haystacks at local farms. March Edness is a gateway indeed, and when the picture is of a gateway, it complicates things more than you ever thought possible.

The gate in yesterday's picture is at the entrance to the stairs that go from Shoreline Park to the beach below. It's a steep step path to the sandy shores of summer. And, lucky for us, these stairs are connected to a part of the park that has not slid, yet.
