Burdock Root
updated: Feb 22, 2011, 3:02 PM

Does anyone know where I can buy local, organic burdock root? I have been striking out at Farmers Market and can only seem to find them in Asian markets where they are not sure of the source...

Thanks!

Did you check Indo China Market in the Kmart shopping center? I believe that I saw it there once.

Original poster here - I cook it to make kinpira gobo. It is quite good and really good for you! I found some at the Asian Market on Calle Real in Goleta but would really like to find a local grower...

OP, are you certain that the local Asian markets do not get it locally?

The difference between organic and non-organic? = BS or more likely CS.

827P - I am not sure, I asked and the girl did not know where they got it... Maybe I will go back and try to ask someone else.

If I'm not mistaken... burdock grows pretty abundantly around here. Might not be the exact variety, but it's burdock.

The difference between organic and non-organic is a lot less chemicals in the streams, oceans, and food chain.

LASSENS in Goleta sells fresh, organic burdock root. I buy it regularly once a week. I am not sure where it's sourced. You're welcome.
