Contact the Santa Barbara Accordian Club. Not sure if they have any Polish members in their group but they would know where you might find one.

For any and all musical needs, including finding a Polish Accordian player, contact Bob Ledner.

Bob plays flute I thought, not accordion. And the kid is not Polish. Do they have BE Polish or play Polish? I agree, the A. Club.

Aquaholic: You never heard JT and the Zydeco Zippers? (I wonder what ever happened to those guys? Not Polish, so that's totally off-topic, but they did play accordion.)

One does not have to be Polish to play Polish music, any more than only a German can play Beethoven.. Music is an international language.

You could also try contacting the local musician's union, 687-3154.

Nancy Bob Ledner does play many different instruments himself besides the flute, but more importantly he also books any kind of musician one might need for any event. He is your one stop source for live music of any kind

old story: the way to be really popular at a party is to know how to play the accordian and do not do it. newer story: I saw Dick Contino give an accordian concert in Hanga 4 at Binh Thuy AB, Vietnam. The Americans ate it up , as we did all USO shows, our friends in the RVN Air Force were somewhere between fascinated and awestruck at the sight and sound of the most exotic musical instrument they had ever seen and heard. added : if I ever go back to Binh Thuy/New Can Tho , I hope the building is still named Hanga 4.

My name is Michael. I am a Russian American accordion player and I play Polish music as well as music from all over the world. I have played music at the Palace Grill in downtown Santa Barbara every week for the past 10 years, and I play for lots of birthday parties. I play solo, or with my band depending on your needs and your budget. If I can be helpful to you, please contact me by calling the Palace Grill, and asking the manager Errol for my telephone number or reply to this email. thanks, Michael Gutin

You might check out Kalinka, a local band that plays a variety of "European" style music (Gypsy, Klezmer, & French Cafe). Very fun music! There is an accordion in the band. Website: http://www.kalinka6.com

Google "accordions, santa barbara." You will find a very active accordion group here that puts on performances about once a month, with a major performance at Faulkner with visiting musicians about once a year. Great group. The exact name eludes me at this moment.

Can't possibly get any better than PaPa Heinz. He's a great player and can do any number you ask for, full of fun and full of personality. If you can't reach him any other way, call the Friendship Center, 969-0859; they hire him.

Yes Papa Heinz is a lot of fun! Anyone wanting that really classical and romantic music, like Edith Piaf, or real authentic gypsy style accordion playing should hire Rebekah! "Rebekah Scogin" I found her email: rivkah3@yahoo.com... I hope the email is current... She is gifted on the Harp and is a wonderful person as well!
