Dear Edda,

Every Valentine's Day, my husband gets in a bad mood. When we were first dating, I expected him to acknowledge it in some way, but over the years, I have come to understand that he is too uncomfortable with the holiday. So, I don't expect to celebrate it, and that's fine.

But now, every year, my husband feels pressure from the media and his friends to celebrate Valentine's Day, and he gets all cranky for a week or so beforehand. I tell him it doesn't matter to me, but he doesn't seem to believe me. This year, I'm getting cranky too, but usually, I'm just…
