If it is just hemming, the alterations guy at Norvell Bass Cleaners in Loreto Plaza does a beautiful job for $16.00.

I've taken a number of alterations, including full suit fittings, to the tailor at Norvell Bass in Loreto Plaza. He's always done a good job and, once, did a refit for free.

We take everything to Alfred's in Goleta.I run a theatre company and any time we need costumes altered that's who takes care of us. I also use Alfred for putting in new zippers and altering dresses. Can't say enough about this family owned biz - I think they've been going for 30-odd years!

I have been to both Lee's and Tony. I took a pair of $160.00 jeans to Lee, with the shoes I was going to wear the jeans with to measure for the hem. When I got there the jeans were hemmed 2 inches too short and the thread used did not even match the thread in the jeans. Not good work, have not been back since. I took a pair of jean to Tony after he was referred to me by a friend. He did an amazing job on my jeans and when I was there he made a few more recommendations for a better fit and I could not have been happier with the outcome.

Tony the Tailor did a great job on my jeans, and the tread matched perfectly. It's harder to do than it looks.

The Tailoress - she has a shop on de la Vina right across from Trader Joe's. She came to my house to measure my husband for pants hemming, did the work, and brought them back to us. She had a VERY, very reasonable charge and her work was impecable!
