Does anyone have a referral for a company that would aerate and de-thatch a lawn?

Most good gardeners can do this. What part of town? How big is the lawn? I may be able to recommend a few gardeners, but this sort of service is normally done as part of ongoing yard maintenance. For a one-time visit, they might charge a bit more than they would a regular ongoing client.

How about trimming ivy down to the ground? Is there a special machine that does this? Is this a regular maintenance thing to do to ivy?
