Clock Repair
updated: Jan 19, 2011, 11:44 AM
Does anyone have the name of a reasonable and competent clock person. We have had people recommend watch repair on Edhat, but no clock repair person that I know of. I have a clock that is not valuable but has been in my family for over 50 years. It has stopped and I would like to see if I can get it repaired if it doesn't cost too much.
Thank you.

I have taken my beloved Seth Thomas ship's bell clock to Cambria for repair because I have been unable to find any local repair person. ONCE UPON A TYME is the name of the shop there.

See Roman at the Pendulum Faire Clock Shop 195 South Patterson Ave. He's the man - old school trained in Poland. (805) 692-8888 ?

Ditto on Montecito Clock Gallery. Ferdie is the owner and knows his clocks.

We took an antique clock to Patco - they had to dig around top find parts, so it took a few weeks, but clock is working fine.

I concur. Speak to Ferdinand at Montecito Clock Company. Ferdinand, from Austria brings that old world craft to CA and has taken care of all my watches and clocks for years. He's also very reasonable on cost and not what you'd normally expect in Montecito.

Roman at Pendulum Faire very expensive. Must have caught him on a bad day because he was rude, arrogant and condescending simply because I did not know technical information concerning my grandfather clock! That is why I went to the clock repair company in the first place!

Roman has kept my Ship's clock going for years. It has great sentimental value but little else. Yes, he can be a little short sometimes but if you spend some time talking with him he's a good guy. You also need to be aware that he always takes a month off (August?) to go back to Poland.

Ditto for Roman at the Pendulum Faire Clock Shop! Very nice any time we've dealt w. him... 195 South Patterson Ave. - freestanding little building just before the corner of Hollister & Patterson.
He's the man - old school trained in Poland. (805) 692-8888.

I have rarely had such a bizarre dealing as with Montecito Clock Co. Screwed up both my tall clock and my ships clock as well. Beware!!

Roman at the Faire is never open, comes and goes as he pleases. Bad attitude when you call and ask when he will be open. Told my wife that he has the right to come and go as he pleases because it is his business. I made my third stop there yesterday to try and get her watch and he was closed again. He doesn't need our business.
