Insulation Installer
updated: Jan 02, 2011, 2:35 PM
I am looking for an insulation installer to insulate an attic.
I'm considering foam or batts from cellulose, recycled denim or fiberglass.

Don't have a recommendation, but do have advice, based only on my own experiences... Avoid the cellulose, as it breaks down more quickly than the other choices.

Broken Drum Insulation. They can install it cheaper than you can buy it at Home Depot. Gary is the owner and you will be pleasantly surprised at the cost.

I seem to work with Broken Drum a lot and they do a good job. However, I've noticed an increase in people using the Icynene (sp?) spray on insulation. It is cleaner and does a better job of insulating your home. They have a local office.

Went with Broken Drum. They arrived a bit early and finished early. They were professional and did not leave a mess. Our home is much warmer! Gary was great. He came to our home and gave us an estimate within 15 minutes. He also informed us of the rebate you can receive from the gas company (15 cents/sq ft).
