While not a support site per se, here is a very supportive site that will help bring comfort and inspiration. Google "unknown soldiers blog" by Tom Sileo.

thanks it is indeed good. any way of finding local parents/support groups for Soldiers in same unit?

From my own mom experience, it's not easy. There's a wonderful supportive SB group called the Santa Barbara Angels who volunteer to send care packages throughout the year. I believe they know of a support group that meets regularly.
