Vespa Service

The Vespa shop downtown is closing at the end of the month, another victim of the economy. Does anyone know where I can get my Vespa serviced in Santa Barbara?

Oh no! This is a tragedy! I love my Vespa. Why wouldn't everyone have a Vespa in this economy? A $6 or $7 fill up for a week's worth of scootering. I don't even bother with a car anymore.

So very sad for Santa Barbara to loose another great local business. I wish Bobby well on his next fn adventue, which I am positive will be a great success. And who knows, maybe he will pop right back up and be happy to service your scoot. You should touch base with him before the end of the month to get his contact info...he really is the best 2-wheeled mechanic in town!

Victim of the economy?...perhaps not. I TRIED to purchase a Vespa from my home dealer....but alas, it wasn't to be. After 3 visits to the showroom and zero response or help from a woman at the counter I did my own research and made the decision to purchase my scooter. I went to the store for the fourth visit in 2 weeks and walked in with nothing but my wallet in hand. I was met at the door by said woman who did not have the time of day for me. As she dangled keys in her hand and made her way to the front door, I asked, "are you closing?"...."yes, we take a 2 hour lunch"...HUH?...not so much as a "here's my card", or please come back...NADA. I drove to Thousand Oaks the next day and bought from them...most fantastic people and buying experience one could ask for....and they delivered my scooter, free of charge. Bobby may be a nice guy, but his business sense was really absent as far as I could tell...I think he lost his mojo somewhere along the way...too bad.

We too are sorry to see Santa Barbara Vespa close it's doors. Our philosophy here at Ooty's scooters is - the more scooters in this town, the better for us all! We do service Vespas as well as our own SYM brand and other Taiwanese brand scoots - sorry no longer servicing or selling Chinese scooters. Our A.S.E. certified mechanic has 30 years experience. 629 E. Haley st.

Santa Barbara Motorsports in Goleta will work on Vespas, has great service, and the best part is that they have the lowest labor rate in the Central Coast. Check it out for yourself.
