Does anyone know which restaurants are open on Christmas?

Pattaya and Szechuan are, for sure.

Don't know about restaurants, but every bar will be open. And a lot of them bring in free food and trimmings on Christmas. And there's nothing quite like (and as apropos as) a few Christmas Bloody Marys.

Vodka, and Christmas, has ruined many a family gathering. Avoid that, especially if children are present. After all, all family members need to be 'present' for the children.

130124P My family isn't much for vodka, but they are BIG drinkers, and I've never had a holiday ruined by alcohol. Just because you may have had a bad experience (or seen others have such) doesn't mean no one can imbibe without turning a holiday into a fiasco. If your family/friends are mean drunks, don't know when to stop, or are dangerous, obviously they shouldn't drink - period, not just at holidays. If you are responsible, it's not an issue. I hope you have a safe holiday, full of loving memories, and nothing else. :)
To the OP: The Restaurant Guy asked what we wanted in a Christmas Restaurants guide, but I haven't seen the guide go up yet. Maybe he'll post it later today? (hint hint, RG)

The Biltmore's Christmas dinner is $110 bucks a person.
The Wine Cask and Tee Off are both open. I know the Wine Cask is $65 a person for a three course meal, not sure about Tee Off.

Seriously, what a stupid comment about vodka ruining your family Christmas. Just because you are a bunch of drunken hillbillies doesn't mean we need your advice for our own Christmas.

Thanks for your input, Fess parkers is $75/head and the Harbor is open and $65/head WOW, I think I'm taking my kids out for Chinese

FWIW, as a clarification 145, The Biltmore is serving an extensive buffet, not a simple 3 course dinner.

I'd rather pay $110 bucks for a 3 course dinner then a buffet. I don't try to shove as much as possible on to my plate.

We did the Harbor's Christmas buffet last year - at $65 it isn't cheep, but wt thought they did a really good job and that it was worth the cost. We'll probably do it again this year - unless we see a better recommendation here. :)

Someone once mentioned that Cottage Hospital has a fancy dinner in the cafeteria, but I don't recall if it was for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

The Crocodile in the Lemon Tree Inn is open both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. There is a great Christmas menu added on Christmas Day, everything is reasonably priced and very high quality. Regular menus and bar menu are also available throughout. Happy Holidays!

Since this also appeared on the slo-edhat, I'll chime in with Apple Farm on upper Monterey St. Traditional comfort food holiday dinner, turkey ham, or prime rib with all the traditional sides(salad, veggies, & mashed p's & sweet potatoes, and pie, coffee or soda, for $32.95 adults, kids 12 &undr, $15.95.They do a nice holiday meal, and the place is decked out in Christmas to the nines! ALways leftovers to take home.

Of course Madonna Inn and any restaurant near motels will be open, as well as fast food, but not most Mom & Pops.

Big Sky closes today at 4:30 and Christams day but will be open NY Eve for a traditional Hoppin' John dinner.

Cottage Hospital DOES have a fantastic buffet for Christmas. I went two or three years ago. It was under $10.00 and included fresh salmon fillets stuffed with crab meat. I was blown away! Don't know what the price is now. And some of the best locally grown broccoli I'd ever tasted. They had a small desert table. Lots of people there in the cafeteria.

They don't publicize this event, and one lady who worked there told me it was one of the best kept secrets in Santa Barbara. If ambience (think Biltmore) is NOT important to you, then give Cottage a try. Not a lot of ambience in a hospital cafeteria. But they did have a fake Santa roaming around.

I'm really glad you asked. Live Culture is open on Christmas and every other day as well. They're planning live music from several guest musicians and they have very good food. And they have wine-tasting for those buying a glass or so of wine. The servers may not be the most expert on the wines, but they are super friendly. It's a great environment with good vibes and food. Along with Italian fare they also serve, believe it or not, carrot juice and frozen yogurt if you want.
