Roger the scanner guy, Edhat columnist, wrote the following testimonial about Catholic Charities:

"I love these guys they are my family. Catholic Charities has been there for me for years. From the thrift store in the back of the property run by two of some of my favorite people Angels Jerry, and Joe. Seems like I always find what I need in that store.

Today I found a VHS tape still in the package "Monty Pythons, And now for something Completely Different" still in the package 2 bucks! Like 2 buck Chuck! Then there's the food pantry run by Lorenzo, which caters for well over 400 poor people each week, probably more like 500 by now.

These are low income people needing assistance who can go to the Catholic Charities food pantry, and get a couple bags full of food and other goodies.

Catholic Charities has services as well including: Thrift store vouchers, for those who need clothing or a blanket. Referral services for the elderly. Bilingual case management, help with translation. Adult services program. They provide supplemental rental assistance, information sharing to other agencies, English classes, dental referral, counseling, and the list goes on and on.

I buy a lot of things from Catholic Charities, I can tell you some of the items they need to sell as these are the same items I need to buy.

Big and tall clothing (56 waist jeans), and tent sized tee shirts, size 14-15 leather boots, old police scanners, very sturdy comfortable office chairs, carpeting, classic rock CD's, VHS movies. I'm sure they will take anything those are some things you might donate that I would buy from them because I NEED THEM.

Turkeys too they might need turkeys. They have me but I'm uncookable.

If you want to donate your time, your money, turkeys, or stuff, or if you need help. Like I need help call them 805-965-7045, or go check em out at 609 East Haley Street. (The blue wall in da middle of the block.)

One of the coolest deals they have is books. They have a great selection most of the time. And right now those books are 60 percent off. Tell ‘em Roger sent you and they will probably have you arrested. (Just kidding.. Merry Christmas.) Thanks to Catholic Charities and anyone able to support them in the coming year."
