I use Ferdinand Geitner on Coast Village Road. He has a clock repair shop mostly but does nice watches too. I think it's called Montecito Clock watch repair or something like that. I believe he's behind the gelato place sort of.

There's a nice watch repairman near Von's and See's Candies in La Cumbre Plaza.

I took my Bulova to the jewelry store near the Vons in La Cumbre Plaza and they did a good job. I forgot the name of the place though, it's next to what used to be a pet store there. Hope that helps...

Pendulum Faire on Hollister near Patterson,

The guy is an expert and his rates are reasonable.

Bayside Watch! It is located just outside of La Cumbre Plaza. They have amazing prices for repair and they are very quick.

Posh Jewelers in Loretta Plaza. Best in Santa Barbara since 1932.

I second Posh Jewelers in Loretta Plaza.

I took my watch to a place in Goleta and they made a huge scratch on it and didn't even tell me they did it. At least they are no longer in business. I have been going to Posh ever since (+15 years) and have been very pleased with their service.

I agree with the first poster. Ferdinand Geitner on Coast Village Road. He fixed a more than 50 year old Lady's Hamilton watch that I got from my mother, who got it from her mother. My Mom had taken it elsewhere to be fixed and they could not fix it. Ferdinand did and I was able to wear my Grandmothers beautiful working watch when I got married.

Patco on Haley St. is the best – least expensive, most reliable – for any jewelry needs.

FYI, I tried to have my Omega fixed at both jewelers on State Street and neither shop would touch my watch. I had to send it back to Omega which was a nightmare.

Bay Watch Repair near See's. The BEST.

Absolutely go with Ferdinand at Montecito Clock Company. I have an Omega he's worked on and I used to have a bubbleback vintage Rolex he always did work on. He's Austrian and brings that old world knowledge to his craft.

I can't believe anyone recommends Posh in Loreto Plaza. The place is an enormous ripoff--my watch never worked after paying hundreds (plural) for repairs, and after I brought it back a bunch of times they said there was nothing they could do. No refund, though. They also once charged me in advance for resizing a ring, then when I picked it up it had been sized wrong, and they had the huevos to ask me to pay even more. The owner is chamning, but they do NOT stand by their work.

I love the guy at La Cumbre. He fixed a Breitling Battery for $30. In the past it has cost me hundreds at other places. He also has many watch bands and fixes stuff while you wait.

There's a watchmaker/jeweler in Victoria Court between McDonalds and the Parking Lot.

His name is Ali and he's an old school watchmaker, not a repairman...

I have purchased old watches from him and have had some repaired. He's the REAL DEAL!

On the recommendation of a local vintage jewelry dealer, I took two antique watches to Jewelry Mart on Hollister for repair and cleaning. Can't say it's a great looking place, but the repairs were done well and the price was reasonable.

Pendulum Faire is outstanding - in the little free-standing bldg close to the corner of Patterson and Hollister (on Patterson.) The business used to be in Arlington Plaza across from the Arlington for years...knowledgable, quick and very reasonable fees!

Interesting observation--three of the raves for Posh Jewelers all contained the identical major spelling error. Think it could be the same poster? Nahhh. No one's THAT snarky. (Right).

I second the recommendation of 113564. Ali in Victoria Court is a very expert jeweler and watchmaker. He replaced the battery in my watch and explained that it had been put in the wrong way the last time at Patco's. He charged more, but took plenty of time to do it right. He also cleaned and repaired my jewelry beautifully.

Pendulum Faire is the place to go. I took my husband's vintage Omega there when it ceased working and thought it would be quite expensive to fix. It was a relief to find it just needed cleaning. It works great now and I would highly recommend him.

P.S. Posh STINKS

Posh seems to do good work, but the man is insulting. I brought in a ring to be sized and he said, "I hope you didn't pay much for this"! I certainly won't go back to have my taste/qualityprice range questioned.

I like Ali Athari whose shop is located in the breezeway between Victoria parking lot and state street (between MacDonald's and the former location of The Closet). Ali is honest and guarantees his work.

BTW, I had an Omega Seamaster that I had to send to Omega in West L.A. (which is really Swatch which owns Omega) and it was a nightmare.

I would strongly recommend Patco as others have.
After receiving estimates from the hundreds to over a thousand to repair my antique, very valuable ships chimes, Patco repaired it for a flat $75 dollars, adjustments included. You just can't do better!

Watch out for Pendulum Faire -- if you pay to have the watch water-proofed, it is only protected while it is in the store... $50 extra and then he'll claim "I don't know what you did to it after you left the store". We will NEVER ever go back to him.

113539, and 113727, you both are so right about the repair being a nightmare at Omega. I thought it was the facility in Secaucus, NJ but I see the LA facility is just as bad. Not only did it take forever and cost a fortune but when they finally sent it back to me, the watch was in pieces and had to be returned again. I'll bet you are still waiting for it to be returned if you sent it in in October...eeich!!
