Big and Tall
updated: Sep 29, 2010, 11:00 AM

Question: Does anyone know where one might find "Big and Tall" clothing stores in Santa Barbara? Or know where someone can special order blue jeans? Sizes 56-58 waist. 34 long? Thank you, used clothing is OK too.

Isn't there a Big and Tall store by Gelson's (Las Positas & State)? Or has it gone the way of other SB businesses?

Singers Big and Tall next to Cox cable in Loretta Plaza, yes. I shop there for my 6 ft 8 in son.

I shop there too, but since I'm only 5'4" I have to take everything in a bit. I love having pants cuffs that go above my knee.

KingSize Direct online, or Casual Male online. Good selection and better prices.

Go to the outlets in Camarillo. Lots of overstock (funky sizes, etc.).

The Territory Ahead has Tall Clothing and offers a great selection of jeans. Check out the flag ship store on State Street.

Singers is great - I get my dress shirts there because I happen to be both tall and "robust" - all the other stores (even Nordstroms) only carry dress shirts that are either wide and short or tight and long.

Land's End and Eddie Bauer are great shopping (online?) for big and tall men and women.

Singers in Loretto is great, locally owned and usually has a good selection. The owner is very helpful and will usually cut you a deal (I got 20% off my last trip, bought 2 pants and 4 shirts) and he threw in a 3 pack of white sports socks that are the BEST fitting socks I've ever had!

I can find clothes in almost every store that fit me, but I'm right on the cusp and hate 'digging' for the right fit. I leave Singers with something every time I go in there.

Now I'm starting to sound like a commercial for the place...LOL!

This is going to be deleted even though I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but your measurements are interesting. 56-58 waist yet 34 inseam makes me think you should lay off the calamari and get a little more exercise into your day. If you are in fact on a regimen I applaud you and encourage you to keep it up and get healthy! I'm sorry I don't have a store recommendation for you but others here have given some.

Cheetos I eat cheetos and sometimes I eat people that give me greif about my weight. If I ate calamari I wood be skinny..Ah Ha you thought I was somebody else. 2.99 for 4xl Shirts Well if I can find 6xl I could wear them as a mini skirt. I found levis on Amazon for Amazon/Big guys like me. Tank you everyone for your comments. I need a woman to help me with my exercise regiment. You know holding my feet when I'm doing sit ups things like that.

I'm thinking that if this person is on the internet and couldn't find a big and tall store he or she might be looking for free advertising for his or her store.

Singers at Loreto Plaza is excellent. With a high $$ purchase you can try your luck with bargaining. Of course, I never would need any clothes that are big....

We have shopped for Tall Man clothing at Singers for about 25 years. Bruce is so helpful and once he knows you, he does give a discount or throws in some socks. Support a locally owned business, have a good personal shopping experience, and go to Singers first before shopping online.
