Don't hate on the fog
Marine layer keeps us cool;
And tourists away.

It makes me feel
Like I live somewhere else, far away

Does anyone know what a Haiku really is supposed to be...? Don't mean to sound like a hater...just curious after reading several of Mamaku's entries and coming away from the experience sort of...well, unimpressed...like maybe as long as someone organizes the wording just-so, then they can basically say anything and it's called a Haiku? Maybe it's just supposed to be quirky and interesting in some way that I haven't been getting so far...sorry. Any knowledgeable Haiku fans out-there who can set me straight?

GOWEST: Ok, that's fair...just did that...still feel exactly the same though. But then I'm also critical of several legitimate artists whose work sells for enormous amounts of money. My opinion doesn't pretend to be anything but what it is, but in the future I'll try harder not to rain on anyone's parade when they're someone's wife or mom or whatever, and just trying to participate in the community via edhat. Better?

The basic haiku rule is that any haiku must be able to be sung to the tune of "Moonlight in Vermont."
