Coffee Price Check
updated: Sep 07, 2010, 10:06 AM

By the Dedicated Staff

Help Edhat collect data for our next price check. Out to coffee today? Note the price of a small, medium and large cup and send us an email to ed@edhat.com Coffee shops across the South Coast will be included, and our staff will fill in the missing data with a few phone calls.

If you've got your phone handy, snap a photo at the coffeeshop you're visiting and send that, too!

Data will be shared on the site later this week.

I hope I don't get to much flak for suggesting this; I get my coffee at 7-11. They have several flavor choices, though I recommend the "house blend". It's a rich yet mild flavor, very good. And if you like, they have chilled real 1/2/& 1/2 (although they also carry those little nondairy things). Medium is $1.59. Quick, clean self serve with no lines to speak of, Oddly, at one time I considered myself a coffee snob - things change.

You shouldn't get ANY flak for that. It's your coffee, your mouth your stomach, your money. You should get it anywhere you want without getting snide remarks.

I think anywhere you like the coffee, you should go.

I like Peets. Everything else seems bitter or watered down (I'm talking to you Starbucks)

I agree -- to each his own. But support local vendors if you can stomach it (hahahah). If price is an issue, Twin Cups, the new coffee kiosk on Calle Real, near the patterson exit, has coffee for a buck during this month, its first.

Or if you want to sit a while, Java Station has free refills for coffee that's not to go.

Just tow examples of local options serving locally roasted beans (Caribbean and Green Star respectively).
