Perfect Wave

We surfers view the world in a slightly different way, especially when there is moving water involved. We tend to quickly process a myriad of internal questions in our heads; can the moving water be ridden, what's the bottom like; coral or smooth sand, what's the water temp, are there any tide issues, and are the locals territorial?
While strolling along the pre-dawn shoreline of Lake Tahoe this morning, I was drawn to what looked like perfect little waves peeling away. A small stream was gushing frigid cold snow melt into Tahoe. The combination of the stream, a shallow sandy bottom and the 6" wind chop on the lake created some of the most perfect tiny waves I've ever seen.
For the next 2 hours I snapped photographs as the sun, ever so slowly, made its way to the waves. I sat undisturbed; only mother geese and their babies on the water. Nothing motorized anywhere.
It was mesmerizing to watch the effects of backwash on the wave formation and to see the subtle changes that the sun makes on the color of the water.
As I grow older and hopefully wiser, I'm finding myself stumbling on more incredible magic every day.
I hope you enjoy the photos.
