ASK EDDA

Job Hunter
updated: Jun 12, 2010, 10:00 AM

Dear Edda,

I have been trying to get a job recently, but find that everyone asks for a resume or an application. I feel this is invasive. My previous employer hired me on the spot, in person.

I only work at jobs that make me happy and that I love. This is important to say, because when I decide to take a job, the employer can expect a contented employee. And contented employees are very important in business.

I understand why employers want to know where you've worked before, but it really doesn't matter as long as you can tell them. I'm not sure if I should worry about this. I suppose I could try to write a resume, but I simply do not look good on paper.

Signed,
Deanndrea

Dear Deanndrea,

Don't worry, dear. According to my readers, sometimes I don't look so good on paper, either.

Edda
