I have an old Buick that needs some work. We used to take our car to Blanquette Automotive? on
Haley Street, but they seemed to have closed. Can anyone recommend a mechanic in town who works on old cars?

You might try Dave's, at 335 Palm (corner of Palm and Laguna).

There's Coopers over on Guiterrez, near Sapsitudes all of my neighbors love the guy, and say he's a great mechanic. I can't afford a car or I'd go to him also.

A-1 Auto Repair at Quinientos and Milpas worth a try. They have done good work on my 1991 Toyota.

Airport Motors in Goleta Family owned, friendly, reliable, reasonable. Jeff was tickled to work on my 66 Corvair at one point. I think he is capable of fixing anything.

Wendell at Milano Motors in Goleta is ultra-fair priced and trustworthy. We take everything to him when we can't handle it. He's done basic stuf on regular cars to weird stuff on odd cars. 964-9500. For alignments and tires we trust and highly recommend Superior downtown (Goleta store doesn't exist anymore).

Airport Motors (near the airport, what a surprise) has been great for my '91 MR-2 and my wife's '94 Jeep Cherokee. Never wants to do something that isn't necessary and does a great job on what is.

We've always had good experiences with Joe at The Shop, 681-1961, out on Kellogg in Goleta. Skillful and very reasonable.

How old is the Buick? I have a '61 Skylark with still way less than 100K miles. Get lots of comments with old buggy. Has an interesting story. But getting parts for this was always a problem.

It's a 62 Special with over 300K miles (original engine). You've probably seen it driving around town.

racergirl. Is this Wendell of the old dynomotive USA. I didn't know he was still around. Is the Superior in SB owned by the same people who had the shop in Goleta?

My good friend and world-class mechanic Tim Chew has setup shop as Top Cat Auto on upper State. Tim not only knows how to work on old cars (at reasonable prices I might add), he owns a few of them as well.

Top Cat for repairs (State near 154), Ian's for tires and alignment. Both local, both do excellent work.

Another vote for KIWI'S AUTO REPAIR across from the Rescue Mission. They do great work on all cars but have a special fondness for older American cars.

Dennis at Carburetor Electric, Jeff at Airport Motors, and Hurley all mentioned above have all worked on my 'collectibles' (junkers to my wife) over the years and I would second the vore for all three of them.

I have a 62 Skylark which you also may have seen around town. I am able to do much of the work myself but have had a lot done at different shops and independent mechanics who still remember the old stuff.

My family loves Scott of Scott's Mobile Mechanic. I'm sure many of you have seen his truck driving around town. It is a converted old fashioned bread delivery truck (or something of that nature) painted teal and black. His numbers are 886-9431 and 685-2001 and he will come to your location.

Based on the Roger and others recommendation, we took our Buick to Coopers on Gutierrez and Salsipuedes. Cooper seemed very nice, explained everything, and gave us a good price. The car runs great ... thanks for all the great advice!

There is Advanced Automotive in Goleta. Miller does my 2 cars. Both are 1969 Chevy's.

I have also had good luck with Miller at Advanced Automotive on Aero Camino. However this last time I tried out Top Shop Automotive on Patterson and was very happy with the result. They stuck to the quote, which was cheaper than Advanced, and they also let me bring my own parts in. I try to avoid paying for mechanics at all costs, but when I do I'll use Top Shop again.

I can highly recommend Robert DiMauro's Automotive, a Honda Service Center in Goleta . I've been taking my Civics to him for 10+ years and been totally satisfied. Robert also knows and can recommend others who can do work that he doesn't, e.g. glass replacement.

With Fiat being sold here again where would you go for regular maintenance from Goleta to Carpinteria?
