Dear Three,

Do you mean Family Circus, the comic strip? As I recall, that's the one with those bratty little tattle-tale kids who are always making borderline "not the sharpest tool in the shed" observations and asking what seem, even for seven (or nine or ten-year olds - however old they are) to be pretty sub-grade level questions. And that little Jeffy character, who always tries to get away with his pre-juvenile delinquent behavior by acting either really cute or mentally challenged. That comic strip? Funny? No.

Dear Frustrated,

Everyone knows that know-it-all-ness comes from rampant insecurity and a deep down lack of self-worth. These people must be carefully nurtured and coddled, smiled at and fawned over. As a bonus, they like it when you tell all your friends how smart they are. That will make you the perfect partner in his eyes. Is that what you want? The only question remaining at that point will be, what the hell is wrong with you? Do you want to hang out with someone who won't let you get a word in the conversation? Do you not know that at some point in the future - distant or not so distant - you will want to run him over with your car just to make him stop talking? And then you'll do jail time. Trust me. Is that what you want? I say, run.
