Do Nothing
updated: Apr 10, 2010, 10:15 AM
Dear Edda,
My wife says she does all the work around the house, and I do nothing but sit on my ass and watch TV. But, I am the one who pays the bills, takes out the garbage, and fixes things when they break. Should I get off my ass or find a nice mail order bride who wouldn't give me such a hard time?
Signed,
On My Ass

Dear On,
Your wife sounds totally unreasonable. I'm sure things are breaking all the time, so you are probably a lot busier than she makes it sound. And we all know how often that garbage can pile up!
By all means, you should look into the mail-order bride thing. I'm sure there are plenty of women in the world who are looking for a guy like you.

Dear Edda,
Recently I was unfriended by several people on Facebook. My feelings are hurt and I really want to know why they have turned against me. Is it OK to ask them the reason for their cyber rejection?
Signed,
down to 678 friends

Dear 678,
It's ok to ask, but I wouldn't. People will lie in a lame attempt not to hurt your feelings further.
If it helps, here are a few reasons why I un-friend people on Facebook:
The picture. It comes up every time you comment, change your status, or like something. If it's too cute - like you in a French domestic workers costume; too freaky - like you in a Halloween wig, or painted the colors of your favorite sports team; or NOT you, a picture of your dog/cat/pet chinchilla or cute child - it is too distracting for me to concentrate on your comment, change of status, or like or dislike of something.
Also, if you don't have a picture - take one. You can even use your phone for cryin' out loud! How bad can it be? No one wants to look at that little silhouetted mug shot.
Farmville, Petville, Café World, Treasure Isle, Mafia Wars, etc. Do not send me gifts, or hearts, or seeds, and I don't care how many cows you have, what you are pretend-eating, or who you shot. Really.
Do you see yourself here, 678?
-Edda
