updated: Mar 26, 2010, 12:30 PM

My sons and I made a red worm composting bin and need to purchase red worms. Does anyone know where to purchase red worms in Santa Barbara?

I've also bought worms from Elisa Robles, The Worm Girl: 815-7233. She can also give you information on how to care for them and how to build different types of compost bins. You just have to promise to take good care of them.

Try grunting worms out of your yard.

Google it.

65272, red worms live in organic material, not in soil. So grunting is of no use. Unless you've had a bad meal.

I sell red worms to Island Seed and Feed weekly.

Another question submitted regarding worms:

Does anyone know where to buy live mealworms to feed wild bluebirds? What kind of container should I use to keep the mealworms from crawling off?

I have a bunch of extra Red Wrigglers from my worm bin I could give away, leave your email and I'll get in contact.

Also Healing Ground Nursery does worm bin demonstrations, sells kits, teaches you to make your own and has worms to sell. Oscar Cardoma is the owners name. He has a great page on Facebook with lots of information too.
