Gated Breath
updated: Mar 22, 2010, 9:15 PM

By Dedicated Staff

The old saying goes, that customers come first. But, at this Santa Barbara location the customers must un-park their cars by 18:00 hours, or 6:00 PM, whichever comes first. Heaven's gates get locked up then, so if you don't move it, it will be stuck there overnight, or towed away, whichever comes first.

Customers and gates, and city ordinances, oh my! Where could this sign be? That was your mission if you chose to accept it on Monday … to find the sign with the times, and score big March Edness points, at the same time.

But few subscribers had much success. We might as well have been hiding Easter eggs during Fiesta! But, we understand. The chances are you've probably have never heard of the Santa Barbara Mission, and you've probably never been there, photographed it, or parked your car where Father knows best. Have you?

Yep, this WII picture was taken at the Mission, where they use military time to tell their customers when the gates are secured. It's at the Mission, where they speak different languages of time, and they will tow away your car if you don't listen.

So, when you go to I Madonnari this year to see the chalk painting that Ed has commissioned Dan Seibert to create, take a peek at the parking sign. It's there - as plain as day … but don't park overnight.

Congratulations to Trolley Tom … the one and only subscriber to successfully identify this location!
