Wall to Wall
updated: Mar 17, 2010, 9:00 PM
It's like the song, Rock Around the Clock. But instead of a clock, it's a wall. And, it's a round wall. And, it's not a song, it's just the side of a building ... a building in the middle of a busy intersection with a long red light.
Anyone in town who owns a Toyota knows this intersection well. The next time you take your car in for recall service, look across Hollister. That's where the round rock wall resides. It's a corner wall of the Carpeteria store on the NW corner of Hollister and Kellogg. That's right, on the other side of this wall is wall-to-wall carpet.
Of course, we are sure that subscribers got confused because they thought that Google was in Goleta, and Carpeteria was in Carpinteria. But, we found out earlier this week that Carl's was in Carp. So, based upon this year's March Edness rules, Carpinteria is a been there, done that, until next year.
One good (but wrong) guess in yesterday's contest was the State of California Building on E Canon Perdido. That building (which was shown in last years' contest) has a similar rock facade. But that wall is straight.
