I'm glad someone reported on this since I was also wondering. While driving on Carrillo at about 0650 this morning there were numerous police cars and fire trucks lining both sides of De La Vina with their lights on.

My friend lives at this property... apparently the tenants in the middle back unit had a fire. He wasn't clear about the cause, but indicated that he was awoken to the sound of breaking glass, his other neighbor making a 911 call and then yelling for him to get out because the place was on fire.
The tenants in the middle unit got out with only minor injuries but their place is completely torched. The back unit was empty and my friend's friend in the front unit didn't suffer any loss (from what I understand).
Allegedly the fireman found a pound of marijuana and a significant number of butane canisters inside the middle unit where the fire started. I can only assume the butane + weed was for butane honey oil extraction (Google it) and that, combined with whatever caused the fire, was responsible for the fire's speed and power.

I don't know if it's the same place but the house where the door is nearest to the side walk use to be a therapist office, and on that proprery is where the redrum took place. A woman was killed by her jealous possessive ex boyfriend

whoa....crazy. that's me in the picture with the red
beanie. i saw the girl taking that shot.
i live on the property that burned and the information
above is accurate as far as i know.
about the murder...if anyone has any more details
about this i'd like to know because some really weird
things have been going on around here lately. a guy
the unit next to the one that started the fire died about
a month ago at his family home in LA. he just never
woke up. now this. it's looking like there's some bad
vibes around here.
i just spoke to the landlord and he said that the place
has been around since the early 1900's so a lot of
stuff has happened here i'm sure.

The city council wants us to believe that dispensaries are a business they can control. Collectives are already legal and allowed to provide pot to sick people. The city can do nothing to stop, control or manage them.
Now, the city says they want to have retail pot stores, too. Not one, but 7. One for each of OUR neighborhoods. Yet, these proposed 7 sanctioned and codified pot shops will be still be illegal under state and federal law. The druggies are saying, "Tax and Tolerate". I don't think so.
They can't control the illegal ones. What makes them think they can control permitted ones? When was the last time you heard about the city going after whatever zoning violation exists in your neighborhood? How many illegal rentals do you know about? How long does it take for the police to respond to your concerns? The city can't seem to manage anything, not even the potholes. Why would we believe that they can control drugs?
We have and always will have illegal drug sales. Thanks to Prop 215 we have legal collective establishments. And, now the city thinks we need some retail pot, too. Retail pot that will set us up for lawsuits.
Are they kidding? I'm not buying it. Are you?
