Does anyone know where there is going to be a Santa to take pictures with? I guess at La Cumbre and Paseo Nuevo they
will only have a "walking" Santa for a few days this month..

I don't know if there will be one this year at La Arcada's "First Thursday" but the one last year was quite remarkable. I think they call their December version of 1st Thurs. "La Arcada Christmas Walk" (5-8pm tonight according to the Indy item). Anyway, their santa last year was the best I've ever seen, both in appearance and demeanor. See you there.

I may be breaking Edhat's comments rules, because I'm about to suggest a non-local place. I hear Thousand Oaks mall has a really good (apparently a rea, whitel beard and all) Santa. Might be stretch of a drive just to see Santa, but if you happen to go down there for another reason...

Just remembered, Ed posted my pic of last year's Santa along with other pix of the 2008 event. The jolly elf was so gentle and patient with the kids, and I love how one of the twins is content while the other freaked. Still one of my fav pix, especially in the larger version that shows their mom snapping a pic.

These are not really Santa. They are just Santa's helpers. Santa is very busy this time of year making toys at the North Pole.

having been a santa for a couple of years at la cumbre plaza, let me give parents some advice. if your child doesn't want to sit on santa's lap, don't make them. santa's a big guy and some small children are scared of him. sometimes mom wants that picture so badly that she'll traumatize the kid to get it. it's upsetting for santa too. if it's a "no go" just wait until next year.

I believe that Santa will be making an appearance tomorrow (December 4) at the Paseo Nuevo. He will also be there on other dates but I didn't pay too much attention since my kids are grown now

You don't need to go all the way to TO. The Pacific View Mall in Ventura has a GREAT Santa - real bearded - and has a twinkle in his eyes!
