It's really good to see the citizen news concerning the WRONG WAY driver last night going North bound in the Southbound lanes on Edhat. I saw CHP fly by here last night then turned on my scanner and heard the transmission. Wrong way driver entered freeway at Casitas Pass, attempted to crash into CHP unit head on traveling 40 mph "In pursuit!" then speeds up to 85 mph before driving parallel then crashing into a ditch near Evans. Code 2 "Medic's" Were then dispatched for I think a woman driver. Sometimes you gotta save the best for first the CHP saved some lives last night. Thank you very much, CHP.
Now we go back in time to Monday morning. In the 3500 block of State Street there was a medical emergency for a disoriented male who was suffering seizures and had recently suffered a brain aneurysm. On the Riviera there was a death from the sounds of the call it was probably natural causes. In the 800 block of Cacique Station 2 Fire personal reported a 415 fight between 3 or 4 people in a gathering of 50 people.
There was a strange medical call from Las Alturas Road from a medical alarm which stated: Need assistance and do not advise "Fire or Police" before that I heard a medical call from the address I think police went up because of that message. Fire Alarms were going off at Santa Barbara Mental Health in the 600 block of Garden Street. A woman was suffering seizures in a car at Pueblo and Calle Real, there was a possible overdose at 209 Vista Ave. I think that was in Ventura. There was a medical call at the Eagles Lodge in the 900 block of Bath Street for chest pains. At Ralphs an idiot was playing games with employees acting as if he was stealing things putting items in his pockets then taking them out I knew he was in deep doo doo when a city police officer stated he wanted to be "Primary on the call and to also dispatch K9-2." I could almost feel the bite on that call it's too bad the guy left before police arrived, he really deserved a good spanking. A woman on Driftwood Street North County called in to report something hit her window and suspected her ex husband, there was a Hazard Condition call on Green Way with a cross street of Modoc as someone heard clicks coming from their oven and smelled gas.
In the 500 block of Fair Oaks, a window smash and screaming was reported by a neighbor and the way the call was reported it sounded like a home invasion robbery although I don't know if that's what happened. But someone did yell that they wanted the computer so they could read "Roger the Scanner Guy" On Edhat. There was a "Be on the Lookout" for a black CRX Honda involved in a burglary on Gillespie on the West Side. I don't remember the license plate but it really doesn't matter I have seen that car around, I have seen a car fitting the description around a black CRX Honda? Not that many around. In the 3500 block of Foothill there was an illegal camper crawling into some bushes and I bet he thought he wasn't seen. A medical emergency for a female fall victim in the shower in the 3900 block of State Street. I did not get the location but I think it might have been on Mission Street there was a "Brown Ford Bronco" travelling at a high rate of speed and cutting drivers off it was reported as a possible 23152 Under the Influence, or a Drunk Driver. I don't drive at this time nor do I own a cell phone but I am wondering if using a cell phone is against the law while driving how does one use a cell phone to call 911 while driving? Is that against the law? I know it sounds like a stupid question, and if I drove and had a cell phone and witnessed a violent action I wouldn't care I'd call, still I wonder. There was a 415 disturbance and a refusal to leave SoHo in the 1200 block of State Street.
At my place early on Tuesday morning a prowler had the misfortune to go almost "head to head" with my neighbor and hero Ballistic Belinda who confronted the guy she being about 5'6 he was almost my height between 6'2-6'4. It was around Four A.M. She had been up to watch the Leonids Meteors and was in the driveway it was "pitch black" out there when she noticed the idiot with a flashlight going around my cottage and attempting to look in my windows, I bet he was hoping to see a pretty girl. I was up getting my clothing on in the dark when I heard her voice go real deep "Can I help you?" She yelled as the guy was headed for my bathroom window, they spoke for a moment then the guy quickly beat feet down the driveway I saw him from the back he was holding what looked like a cell phone speaking into it I heard him say "I'm about to get shot." I don't know about a gun but Belinda is pretty good with a garden hose. This guy was prowling about the same time as Fire Engines were headed to Cleveland School on a fire call I don't know how that fire started but heard Engine 2 Fire personnel request an investigator.
I'm really not to sure where this was but I believe it was a DUI Accident near Quinientos and Milpas Tuesday around 1 P.M. The driver went to the hospital with an injury to his legs, I heard something about a 211 Robbery but don't know where or anything else about it other than it was somewhere in Santa Barbara, there was a report of a "Warming Fire" Under the freeway at Cabrillo but when Engine 2 arrived they found nothing. Several years back I awoke after a nap in the evening to smoke filling my cottage I went outside and a lot of smoke was coming from behind the buildings on the freeway side of Cacique and Milpas I couldn't see what was burning so I had to run to the other side and look over then fence there was brush burning against the building and in the middle of it with his shoes and hat smoldering was a drunk fella passed out. Warming fires could get out of hand we don't need that here, do we? I notice listening to the scanner that more people are calling 911 lately that's a good thing we may not always get along but we take care of each other here in Santa Barbara. We may live in the land of fruits and nuts so "Watch OUT!" There was a medical emergency for a possible stroke on Vine Ave. cross of De La Guerra, a medical emergency on Cacique, a 415 Disturbance at another Ralphs on De La Vina. I don't know where this occurred but think it was North County somewhere. Johnny took his mother's keys pushed her down and took off on his black bicycle. That's all I heard out of that.
Medical emergency for a 34 year old woman with numb hands and feet in Santa Barbara, a report of a 60 year old man holding 2 large sticks on Villa Ave. in Santa Barbara somehow I think he was doing so for protection but I don't know it just sounded that way. There was a unknown medical emergency at St. Marks Church on Alamo Can Ta Toe. There was a hit and run at Cliff and Meigs, that was non-injury. This sounded like somewhere in the North County I don't know where a place called "Pappy's" is but there was a report of numerous people stealing pallets there, some recyclers will pay $3 for a wood pallet in good shape here I am sure some people are willing to pay more some places will give them away for free all you have to do is ask. This was an interesting call that came from a citizen suspicious vehicle a Toyota Corolla that looked as if it had a license plate over the original license plate and the top plate came from a Mercedes from the 2200 block of St. James Place in Santa Barbara, the car was spotted in the 3800 block of State Street and was reported to be headed to the Cal Trans Lot. Two people were in a bathroom on Pardall having intimate issues with tissues and someone called 911 on them. There was a silent alarm at the County Adminstration Building, all was well. A 415 Verbal on San Pasqual in the 1500 block. This I heard this morning for one of our readers: There was a report of an aggressive panhandler at the Milpas Offramp Southbound Boy!
