Accident on State Street
updated: Oct 31, 2009, 7:07 PM

I witnessed a man have a bike accident Saturday on the 2900 block of State St (near CVS). He was unconscious for a bit, but able to remember his phone number and wife's name by the time the ambulance arrived. Does anyone out in Edhatland happen to know how he is doing?

I heard a noise and looked out my apartment and saw your husband lying next to his bike. By the time I got outside, several nice people had stopped their vehicles and were tending to him. Another witness said it appeared his handlebars turned sharply and he flipped over them. We all speculated as to why and how it happened, and police at the scene wondered if it had to do with the electric motor on his bike. He was pretty banged up, but so fortunate to have been wearing a helmet. I wish you guys the best as he recovers!

I am all about bikes but how does the electric motor factor in?

My husband stopped to help and block traffic. It looked like the front wheel of his electric bike had come loose from the forks after jamming but we didn't see this - when we came around the corner he was already on the ground. He was unconscious at first and I am glad he is ok now...
