updated: Mar 19, 2017, 6:00 PM

By the Dedicated Staff of edhat.com

Santa Barbara County Fire responded to a single vehicle rollover incident Sunday afternoon that led to one person being airlifted to Cottage Hospital for major injuries and another two patients transported to the hospital via ground ambulance for major and moderate injuries.

At 2:34 p.m. Sunday Santa Barbara County Fire responded to a report of a vehicle accident at Highway 101 northbound in Buellton just north of Damassa Road. County Fire responded with two engine companies, a fire battalion chief, one AMR ambulance and one California Highway Patrol unit where they found a single vehicle with five occupants inside had rolled over.

Of the five occupants, two complained of major injuries, one of whom was transported by CalStar helicopter to Cottage Hospital. The second occupant was transported to Cottage Hospital via ground AMR ambulance.

A third occupant complained of moderate injuries and was also transported to the hospital via ground ambulance. The other two occupants had only minor injuries and refused medical treatment on scene.

The cause of this incident is under investigation by California Highway Patrol.

Roll overs in Buellton are starting to be as common as head-ons on the Pass.

And I really wonder why?

Because other than the Three Bridges S-turns south of B-town, the rest of the freeway in and out of Buellton is pretty much wide open and in a straight line.

So how do you flip yourself on a straight flat road?
