Students cross that section of Loma Alta where there is no crosswalk not watching or listening for cars. Often face down looking at their cell phones. Check for yourselves, they cross mid block near the entrances to the parking lots or where the fire road comes down from west campus. Motorists be forwarded. Here's another tip when driving near SBCC, watch out for foreign students. Many have issues with the rules of the road and that transfers over to their decisions while walking as well.

Roger. I know exactly the spot. That area on Loma Alta past the bridge is problematic. They actually raised the speed limit on that stretch a few years ago. Blind curve with 3 parking lots within a small area emptying into that section

#507: You seem to be the only source that says the driver was texting. How did you know for sure? Or is this pure conjecture?
