Lompoc Man Charged With Murder

Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that William Manuel Delgado, age 42, was charged with Murder, in violation of Penal
Code section 187. It is alleged that Mr. Delgado murdered his girlfriend, Ranae Ronquillo, on January 6, 2017 in Lompoc, California. Ms. Ronquillo was 47 years
old. It is further alleged that Mr. Delgado used a knife.
Moreover, it is alleged that in 2014 in Riverside County, Mr. Delgado was convicted of felony Domestic Violence, in violation of Penal Code section 273.5,
involving the same victim, and he served a prison term for that offense. Also, in Riverside County, in 2008, it is alleged Mr. Delgado was convicted of a serious
felony offense, to wit, Discharging a Firearm with Gross Negligence.
The charges were filed in Department 1 of the Lompoc Superior Court today. The defendant was not transported from Santa Barbara County Jail. His bail was
set at $2,000,000. His arraignment was continued to January 11, 2017 in Santa Maria, Dept. 9 at 8:30 AM.

tragic domestic violence crime committed this past weekend in Lompoc that ended in her death.
Instances of domestic violence occur daily. The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence reports that on average, nearly 20 people per minute are
physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men. One in 3 women and one in 4
men have been victims of physical violence by an intimate partner within their lifetime.

Suspect(s) : William Manuel Delgado 42-year-old Lompoc resident
On Saturday 1-7-17 at about 0119 hours, the Lompoc Police Department received a call from a male stating his mother was injured and not breathing. When
officers arrived at the residence they located the 47-year-old female face down with major injuries to her face. She was not breathing and was pronounced
deceased at the scene.
Officers quickly learned the suspect was the victim's boyfriend, William Delgado. WILLIAM is a currently on Probation through Post Release Community
Supervision (PRCS Prop 47). He is on probation from Riverside County but with an address in Lompoc.
At about 0227 hours, the suspect was seen driving near the victim's residence while Officers and Detectives were on scene. The suspect was stopped without
further incident and taken into custody. The investigation is still on-going. WILLIAM was booked into the Lompoc PD City Jail for murder.
