Upcoming Construction in Goleta
updated: Aug 21, 2014, 4:08 PM

By Valerie Kushnerov

Over the last two weeks one half of the bridge was demolished. We recognize that this was very unpleasant for those in the adjacent housing and certainly apologize for the noise. MNS Engineering produced this 11 second video of the demolition which you may enjoy watching.

The upcoming work will include the following:

Pile driving operations will start on Wednesday, August 27 and continue through Friday, August 29. The work hours are 6am - 8pm. Although you may hear construction noise at 6am, the actual pile driving will not start until after the 6:30am train passes through. Pile driving will be done intermittently during the day as the contractor works around the train schedule. Operations will be completed by 8pm. Pile driving will also take place between Tuesday, September 2 and Thursday, September 4 and will follow the same schedule between 6am and 8pm.

During both of these periods the bridge will remain open. Please obey all signs and construction workers while driving, walking and cycling over the bridge.

Thank you for your interest in this important public safety project. Check the project website at www.LosCarnerosBridgeProject.com for additional information.
