A few days ago, when my housemate told me birds were pecking holes in his second story window screen I thought he was making it all up. Yesterday, a female House sparrow completed her entrance hole and got trapped between the screen and the Venetian blinds. I came to the rescue, with fish pond net in hand. The little sparrow flitted up and down and then found her own way out. Thankfully, this wasn't one of the new screens we had installed last month. We're keeping an eye on all the screens now.
