CHP To 'Un-Arrest' Hundreds

The California Highway Patrol has been ordered by Judge Tom Anderle to clear the arrest records of 188 individuals.

According to The Independent, the CHP has - for decades - worked around a state law that rectifies the social stigma people experience when they get arrested but are never prosecuted. Rather than expunging such arrests from a person's record and noting instead that they had been "detained," the CHP often leaves the arrest on the record.

Now, these people will have clean records and no longer be followed around by inaccurate information.
