NON-PROFIT OF THE WEEK

Santa Barbara Studio Artists
updated: Aug 16, 2014, 10:00 AM

Santa Barbara Studio Artists presents the 13th Anniversary of their Open Studios Tour, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24, 2014. A month-long preview exhibition and an Opening Artists' Reception are also scheduled as part of the 13th Anniversary festivities. The Tour features a treasure trove of world-class original art and a view inside Santa Barbara's leading artists' private studios. Tour guests will discover an award-winning wonderland of landscape, contemporary, and figurative painting, as well as sculpture and assemblage.

Santa Barbara Studio Artists (SBSA) is a not-for-profit, juried organization of professional fine artists dedicated to raising the profile of Santa Barbara as a destination for the arts. The organization is dedicated to providing recognition and opportunities for participating professional level studio artists working in the visual arts in the Santa Barbara area. SBSA arranges small group joint exhibitions, group tours, and other opportunities for the Santa Barbara arts community.

Since its inception in 2002, the Santa Barbara Studio Artists' Tour event has doubled in size and open studio tours have gained popularity across the country as a way for artists to showcase their work, for communities to attract visitors, and to give art collectors the opportunity to purchase directly from artists at studio prices.

Distinguishing Santa Barbara Studio Artists from other open studio tours, SBSA membership is juried and participating artists are top professionals in the visual arts. Many of their works have been showcased on the walls of prestigious galleries, museums and private and corporate collections from New York and Los Angeles to Paris and elsewhere.
