Diagnostic Nephrologist
updated: Jul 28, 2014, 7:57 PM

Who are the brilliant diagnostician nephrologists in the Santa Barbara area? I've lived decades with a mild hypertonic muscle state. I think the hypertonic muscles may contribute to, or cause, the chronic daily migraine I live with 24/7.

At WebMD I read that a consultation with a nephrologist is in order. If you've experienced a mild hypertonic muscle state, I'm interested in hearing about your experiences. At this time I do not need referrals or advice as to how to manage chronic daily migraine.

I work in the medical field....Dr Allyn or Dr Fisher are the best, we refer all of our patients to them. They are in the same office 1704 State St 687-0412.

Dr. Thomas Allyn, MD has the best reputation in town and comes highly recommended for his expertise. UCLA and Cedars Sinai nephrology departments speak highly of Dr. Allyn.

Good posts. Not happy with Elder at Sansum and that was "normal" care, but included dialysis. He's one of those docs who can't accept the truth/the end. Sorry, but there IS a time to give up and LISTEN to those who live with the patients. sorry for complaining.

Allyn sounds great, keep UCLA and other places in mind. Good luck, OP!

I suspect you'd want a neurologist or rheumatologist for the treatment of hypertonic muscles. Sometimes rheumatoid arthritis is a factor in hypertonic muscle spasms. Not sure how a kidney specialist relates to the musculoskeletal system or possible arthritis.
