La Recepción Del Presidente
updated: Jul 28, 2014, 5:00 PM

By the Dedicated Staff of edhat.com

The Dedicated Staff of edhat.com joined in celebrating the kick off for this year's Old Spanish Days during La Recepción Del Presidente at Fess Parker on Sunday evening. El Presidente Dennis F. Rickard was joined by past Presidentes, Mayor Helene Schneider, emcee John Palminteri, and a whole lot of locals donning bolero jackets and flamenco skirts. This event was sponsored by Impulse, which we may have crashed their private party. Sorry! Dinner was served by the staff of the Double Tree Hotel. A feast of tri-tip and chicken fajitas, tamales, rice and beans, and churros! We were most excited by the churros if you couldn't tell.

During the ceremony Mayor Helene Schneider provided a proclamation declaring that during the week of Old Spanish Days, State Street will be known as Calle Estado. El Presidente Dennis Rickard accepted the decree for the 90th anniversary of Old Spanish Days.
