Countywide Preventive Maintenance Application of Scrub Seal and Micro-Surfacing Project is scheduled to continue in the South County starting July 17.
The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors has awarded the 2013/2014 Countywide Preventive Maintenance Application of Scrub Seal and Micro-Surfacing to Pavement Coatings Company for $1.25 million. This Measure A-funded project will resurface approximately 26 lane miles of County maintained roads as part of the County's annual Pavement Preservation Program.
The final stage of the project is ongoing and the roads will receive a micro-surface application. This project will seal the road to further add to the pavement life and help restore the riding surface.
This project started June 23, 2014 and should be completed by mid-late August, contingent upon weather conditions. Construction hours will be 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route when possible, and should be aware of reduced speed zones and increased traffic control when driving through the construction sites. Public Works Department officials thank the local residents, pedestrians, and traveling public for their patience and cooperation during the construction of this project.
